Castles!

Thought I'd do something about what I've been up to in my classroom. Lately I've focused on the years 1492 - 1700, this week we moved forward to 1789 and the French Revolution.
I've covered Exploration, and Spanish and Portuguese Colonization as well as Aztec and Inca Cultures. Then I talked about Japan and its Sengoku Period. Fun stuff. We compared and contrasted Feudal Japan to Feudal Europe and we built Castles! Here are some of the examples.

Welcome Friends and Family

Hi everyone,

Glad that you could come and see what I've been up to lately. Some of you visit more often than others so I try to keep the updates coming and talk about a variety of things that are going on in my life and in the life of my sweetheart Pamela, whether it be pet news, things going on at work, wedding plans, or vacations that we take to get away from Pinon.

Pinon is a small town in the Navajo Nation, it has a population of around 1,900, a single grocery store, three restaurants, and a gas station. There is a Catholic Church and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter - Day Saints. The Traditional religion and the Native American Church also have a strong presence in the area.

Very random things tend to happen out here and we have a very simple way of explaining it, "It's Pinon." That seems to cover a lot of it.

Most of the roads going in and out of Pinon are dirt paths that have to be well maintained year round, especially during stormier times of the year when such roads have a tendency to get washed away by the storms.

I've never been much of a faithful journal writer, but this site is sort of a on-line journal that I'm willing to share with friends and family. Even though we live far apart and I am in somewhat of another world we can still remain connected whether by phone or looking at each other's blogs.
