Ohio Comes to Pinon

Two weeks ago Emma, Pam's maid of honor paid us a visit and got the music job at the elementary school.
Last week Pam's Grandma Miller came and stayed at the Pinon Hilton.
Today Pam has gone to the airport to pick up Angela who is coming to see how things are out here since she has been given the math job.
Last I heard Pam's Dad was considering moving out to Flagstaff for a job. Ohio is invading Arizona and we are enjoying it.

Back at Home

Married life is great. A lot of changes happened while Pam and I were gone. Some of the bigger changes in the church. President Huxhold is no longer the Branch President. He is now the new 1st Counselor to the new Stake President. President Fowles is now the Branch President and I currently have no church calling although I have been told that I will soon get a stressful calling that will quote, "Strain my marriage." Dang it I only just got married! Oh well, it will be fine, whatever it is.
Pam and I were shocked by a few other things when we got off the plane, first of all being just how cold it was in Arizona. Phoenix was a mere 69 degrees and Pinon itself felt like late winter rather than a day in mid spring.
Soon after coming home my Pam had to leave again, leaving us both wishing that we could spend more time together. She's back from her conference in Vegas now and we're both super happy about it.

Welcome Friends and Family

Hi everyone,

Glad that you could come and see what I've been up to lately. Some of you visit more often than others so I try to keep the updates coming and talk about a variety of things that are going on in my life and in the life of my sweetheart Pamela, whether it be pet news, things going on at work, wedding plans, or vacations that we take to get away from Pinon.

Pinon is a small town in the Navajo Nation, it has a population of around 1,900, a single grocery store, three restaurants, and a gas station. There is a Catholic Church and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter - Day Saints. The Traditional religion and the Native American Church also have a strong presence in the area.

Very random things tend to happen out here and we have a very simple way of explaining it, "It's Pinon." That seems to cover a lot of it.

Most of the roads going in and out of Pinon are dirt paths that have to be well maintained year round, especially during stormier times of the year when such roads have a tendency to get washed away by the storms.

I've never been much of a faithful journal writer, but this site is sort of a on-line journal that I'm willing to share with friends and family. Even though we live far apart and I am in somewhat of another world we can still remain connected whether by phone or looking at each other's blogs.
